Refer a Friend – Terms and Conditions

These terms govern the Northern Gym Equipment Refer a Friend programme (the "Programme"). By taking part, you agree to these terms. The Programme is operated on our behalf using Mention Me. Taking part is also subject to our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Who can take part

1.1 To refer a friend ("Referrer") you must be aged 18 or over, resident in the United Kingdom or Ireland, and have a valid customer account with us.

1.2 To be referred ("Friend") you must be aged 18 or over, resident in the United Kingdom or Ireland, and be a new customer who has not previously purchased from us.

1.3 You cannot refer yourself, and you cannot claim a Friend reward on your own referral. Referrals between the same household or using the same payment details, address, or device may not qualify.

1.4 The Programme is for personal, non-commercial use only. It may not be used for bulk, automated, or commercial promotion (for example, posting referral links on coupon, cashback, or deal websites).

2. How it works

2.1 The Referrer receives a unique referral link after entering their details on our Refer a Friend page.

2.2 The Referrer shares that link with a Friend.

2.3 The Friend clicks the link and receives their reward to use on a qualifying first order (see clause 3).

2.4 Once the Friend's qualifying order is completed and outside any returns or cancellation period, the Referrer's reward is issued.

3. The rewards

3.1 Friend reward: £25 off a first order (or the local-currency equivalent on the Ireland store).

3.2 Referrer reward: £25 off a future order (or the local-currency equivalent), issued once the Friend's qualifying order is completed.

3.3 Rewards are issued as single-use discount codes. They are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and have no cash value.

3.4 Rewards are valid for 90 days from the date of issue. After that they expire and cannot be reinstated.

4. Qualifying orders

4.1 A qualifying order must have a minimum value of £100 (or the local-currency equivalent), excluding delivery charges, after any other discounts.

4.2 The Friend reward applies to the Friend's first order only.

4.3 The following are excluded and do not count towards the minimum spend, and rewards cannot be used against them:

• Outlet products
  
• Gift cards
• Delivery charges

4.4 Only one discount code may be used per order. Rewards cannot be used in conjunction with any other code, voucher, or promotional offer.

5. Limits

5.1 There is no cap on how many Friends a Referrer may refer, subject to these terms.

5.2 We may set reasonable limits on the total value of rewards a single customer can earn or redeem within a given period, and may adjust these to prevent misuse.

6. Cancellations, returns, and refunds

6.1 If a Friend's qualifying order is cancelled, returned, or refunded such that it no longer meets the qualifying conditions, we may withhold or cancel the associated Referrer reward.

6.2 Where a reward has already been redeemed on an order that is later cancelled or returned, we may deduct the reward value from any refund.

7. Fraud and misuse

7.1 We may refuse, withhold, cancel, or reclaim any reward, and suspend or close any account, where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a breach of these terms — including fake accounts, self-referral, or attempts to manipulate the Programme.

7.2 Our decision in cases of suspected misuse is final.

8. Data protection

8.1 By referring a Friend, you confirm that they are happy to be contacted by us about the Programme, and that you have their permission to share their details for this purpose.

8.2 We and our provider, Mention Me, process personal data to operate the Programme. Details of how we handle personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy: https://northerngymequipment.com/policies/privacy-policy.

9. Changes and ending the Programme

9.1 We may change these terms, change or withdraw the rewards, or suspend or end the Programme at any time, without notice. Any change takes effect from the date it is published on our website.

9.2 Rewards already validly issued before a change or the end of the Programme remain valid until their stated expiry, unless withheld under these terms.

10. General

10.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in Ireland, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of Ireland.

10.2 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

10.3 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
